Recording Gear, Equipment, and Process
Skunkworks Studio has a wide range of gear that is available depending on the booking. We have three main types of bookings.
Recording with an Engineer – Our flagship booking is working with one of our pro-engineers and having them operate the control room while you focus on performance and getting the perfect take.
Self-Serve Recording – at the heart of what we wanted to do with the studio is to provide a place where people can come and track on their own, at their own pace at a reduced rate with great gear. That’s what we have – you don’t have to record silently at home, you can come here and use the studio.
Rehearsals – Our philosophy is based on an hourly rate, not a per-person rate (which doesn’t make any sense to anyone), and we provide everything you need – just bring your instruments and use the drums, PA, amps and room.

Skunkworks Recording Studio room self-tracking is $45 per hour – with a 2 hr minimum.
Skunkworks Recording Studio room with an Engineer is $85 per hour – with a 2 hr minimum.
On average at a Calgary recording studio, in Calgary AB, you might expect to pay anywhere from CAD $50 to CAD $200 per hour for studio time. This rate typically includes the use of the studio’s facilities and equipment, as well as the services of a sound engineer. Music production isn’t cheap.

Yes, parking is free and located along the side of the building.
We do, if for any reason you need to cancel please give at least 24 hours notice so that we may re-book the space. Without proper notice a $45 cancellation fee will be imposed. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
Our rate is $30 per hour – with a 2 hr minimum for rehearsals and $45 – 85 per hour for self-recording or recording with an engineer.
Unlike other rehearsal spaces in Calgary, our rental policy isn’t based on the number of people using the room.
